Irish cutie Kathryn Scott has a new album out called “We Still Believe”
Irish worship leader and songwriter Kathryn Scott has the cutest look and accent if you meet her in person. When she says the word “cool” it comes out as “coo.” Christian Music Daily met her at Kingdom Bound Christian music festival in New York and loved her. She captures the hope and heartache of a life of faith and affirms We Still Believe with her latest Integrity Music album, out now.
Known for songs like “Hungry” and “At the Foot of the Cross,” Scott says We Still Believe reflects the experiences and lessons she has felt God teaching her anew.
“If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the last number of years, it’s that life is hard but God is always good,” says Scott, who with her husband Alan, pastors Causeway Coast Vineyard Church in Coleraine, Northern Ireland. “Every one of us has been touched by hardship. We still live in an imperfect world. And yet, our Father never changes. He is always present, always faithful, always able.”
“My deepest prayer is that people who listen to this album will feel the presence of the King who changes everything,” she adds. “I pray that there’ll be healing for hearts that have become despondent and tired along the way, that the Spirit of the suffering servant will breathe new life into these hearts, reminding them that there really is strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow.”
Produced by Brent Milligan (TobyMac, Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael W. Smith), We Still Believe was recorded live at the Redding, California-based Bethel Church, a faith community that has been an encouragement to the Scott’s own ministry in Northern Ireland.
The album includes nine new songs, mostly penned by Scott, along with the Keith Green classic (written by Green’s wife Melody) “There Is A Redeemer” and a bonus track of Scott’s classic “Hungry.” It also features a guest appearance by Scott’s mentor and fellow Integrity artist Brian Doerksen.
To make these songs more accessible to churches, Integrity created companion resources for the album including tracks, a songbook and a digital songbook!
In addition to serving at her home church in Coleraine, Scott makes time to lead worship and teach in the U.S. and U.K. This fall, she joins worship leaders Paul Baloche and Brian Doerkson with whom she will teach at five Seminars4Worship conferences in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Georgia and Alabama.
Raised in a ministry-oriented family, Scott holds a Theology degree from Elim Bible College in England. Her discography includes We Still Believe along with the critically-acclaimed albums Satisfy and I Belong. She is also featured on numerous best-selling collections including Hungry and Worship and Adore: A Christmas Offering.
